The game of survival in the wilderness and its connection to adventure narratives of the sixties, seventies, and eighties fascinates me. Visual iconic traces or remnants of the people who live in rural and suburban places are sources for my paintings. Investigating the similarities and differences of the real versus the constructed continues to greatly inform my work and creates a symbolic way of looking at the natural world. My work seeks to create cinematic narratives of unexpected discovery and exploration.
